Towards the end of the school year, my 5th grade class had a field trip to the big city of Bismarck for something or another. Moi...wanting to be super stylish, wore my new jean jacket that I had possessed for all of 2-3 months (winter was finally over in ND and I could bust it out!). Not only was this fine jacket, acid wash...it was also covered in my "button" collection. Some little ones on the front and on the back of my jacket, I was rockin' this HUGE yellow smiley face button. That thing had to be 8 inches in diameter...HUGE.
I. Am. Such. A. Geek.
At some point on the hour plus bus ride home, I remembered I left my jacket at the park. I was crushed, I'm sure I cried. My Dad and I arrived home about the same time and I went into my sob story immediately. Without a pause, he said, "Let's go look for it." We jumped in the car and drove 60+ miles back to Bismarck, to the park and looked everywhere. Of course it was nowhere to be found, who wouldn't want a brand new acid wash jean jacket?
The thing is, I really believed we were going to find my jacket. Looking back now, I'm sure my Dad knew it was a goner, but he didn't let on. He had already worked a full day and was still willing to drive me 120+ miles round trip to look for a jacket that he knew was gone.
Thanks Dad. I love you and Happy Birthday!

ahhh, pictures can be so evil sometimes, but fun all the same!
I am trying to grow my bangs out in this pic, and my poor friend Nikki...who the hell knows what is going on with her hair! and that couch! Bless my Mothers heart, she needs to fire her decorator!! :)
