My employer is one of the race sponsors and helped myfellow co-workers and I to form a 5 person relay team to run the full course of the marathon (26.2 miles). There was 50 people from my company that ran and formed 10 teams. Here are the details on that:
SMU Cox Corporate Relay Challenge, Presented by Behringer Harvard Corporate 5-Person Relay, Full Marathon Distance Sunday, December 9, 2007 • 8:00 a.m. Victory Park – American Airlines Center – Dallas, Texas USA
What is a Corporate Relay Challenge? The concept is simple. Corporate relay teams of 5 persons each participate in the full marathon relay (26.2 miles total). Winning relay teams in a variety of categories will share a purse of more than $30,000 in prize money, which will be given directly to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. The 26.2 mile course begins and ends in Victory Park at the American Airlines Center.
Our team name was "The Amazing Racers" It was quite an adventure. We started out good...got lost...swore, a lot...had about 150 traffic violations...finally managed to pull it all together and have a great time! We won a trophy at our company Christmas Party, for Most Closely Predicting Their Time...we were 3 minutes off!
